The website Canvas is working again. But many schools are telling students not to use it yet. A group of hackers broke into the system and stole information. The same group is now asking for money to give the data back. Half of all colleges in North America use Canvas. Many schools use it to give tests and homework.
Final exams are coming soon. Some students cannot take their exams because of this problem. Some schools are telling students to wait before they log back in to the website. Officials are still checking how much information the hackers took.
