
A recent three-week expedition spanning thousands of kilometers in an electric vehicle yielded invaluable insights for the author. The phenomenon colloquially termed "range anxiety" was unequivocally validated by his experience, though seasoned EV operators frequently extend their expertise to novices. Prior to this venture, the author had contemplated an eventual transition to electric propulsion; however, his timeline was precipitously expedited when the internal combustion engine of his venerable 17-year-old Subaru succumbed to mechanical failure mere weeks before Christmas. Remarkably, the vehicle had accumulated an extraordinary 360,000-plus kilometers prior to its final demise.
