Londoners may have spotted a giant green pickle moving through the capital. The unusual sight has appeared at landmarks such as Tate Modern and the Southbank Centre, as part of the UK's first Jewish Culture Month. The celebration began on 16 May with a simple message: Jewish culture is vibrant and open to everyone.
Organized by the Board of Deputies of British Jews, the month features more than 150 events spanning food, music, comedy, fashion, film and literature. Major institutions including the V&A Museum, National Portrait Gallery and the British Library are taking part. Liat Rosenthal from the Board said the project responds to challenging years for Jewish communities. She encouraged people from all backgrounds to get involved and enjoy the rich cultural programme.
