New Study Questions Whether Advanced Alien Life Exists

The Cosmological Hart-Tipler Conjecture represents a sophisticated refinement of arguments originally proposed by physicists Michael Hart and Frank Tipler between the mid-1970s and early 1980s. Their central thesis held that the apparent absence of extraterrestrial civilizations (ETCs) could be attributed to their non-existence, predicated on the assumption that sufficiently advanced ETCs would have developed self-replicating Von Neumann probes capable of galactic colonization over sufficient timescales. The lack of empirical evidence for such probes was thus interpreted as confirmation that humanity occupies a unique position in the cosmos. This proposition became widely recognized as Fermi's Paradox, though scholars more accurately refer to it as the Hart-Tipler Conjecture.
