Scientists using a special telescope in space have found important new information about cosmic rays. These are tiny pieces of matter that travel through space at extremely high speeds. The telescope is called DAMPE. It was sent into space in 2015. Scientists from Switzerland worked on this project with researchers from other countries.
The scientists discovered that all types of cosmic rays behave the same way after reaching a certain energy level. This happens at about 15 teravolts. The number of particles drops quickly at this point. This finding helps scientists understand where cosmic rays come from and how they move through space. The results were published in the journal Nature.
