South African police arrested two Thai men. They tried to take parrot eggs out of the country. This happened at a big airport in Johannesburg. The first man is 50 years old. Police caught him on 20 August. He had 50 eggs. The eggs were in a small homemade box. Police say the box was like a fake incubator.
The second man is 23 years old. Police caught him on 16 July. He had 418 eggs. He put the eggs in two bags. The bags looked like incubators too. The eggs came from wild birds. These birds are in danger. A group called CITES protects these birds. CITES stops people from trading wild animals.
A team called the Green Scorpions works on this. They work with police to stop smugglers. A zoo in Pretoria has the eggs now. The zoo is taking care of them. Some eggs have hatched. Baby birds are alive and getting help from doctors who care for animals.
