A bad disease is spreading in Africa. The disease is Ebola. It kills many people. About half of the sick people die. The outbreak started in a province called Ituri. Ituri is in the Congo. Over 240 people have died. The disease has spread to nearby areas. It also reached a city called Kampala.
Doctors are working hard to stop the disease. But it is very hard. Ituri is a place with many mines. Many people work in the mines every day. They stand very close to each other. There is also fighting in the area. Bad groups fight each other. The fighting makes it unsafe.
Many sick people need help. But the hospitals are small. Many people have no homes. They live in big camps. These camps are very crowded. This is the first big Ebola outbreak since Western countries stopped sending aid. The aid cuts made the health systems weak. Now the doctors cannot help enough people.
