A big piece of a SpaceX rocket will hit the moon soon. Bill Gray watches this piece in space. He says it will hit on Wednesday. The time is around 2:35 in the morning. The piece moves very fast. It goes over 5,000 miles per hour. The piece is the rocket's top part. It is about the size of a five-story building.
This rocket went to space in January 2025. It carried two moon landers. These landers have tools for science. The rocket part is now dead. No one controls it anymore. It will hit the moon by accident.
The hit will happen on a part of the moon we can see. It will be near the Einstein Crater. Scientists think the hit will make a hole. The hole will be at least 17 meters wide. NASA has a camera in space. The camera will take pictures before and after. Some scientists say we may see dust fly up from the moon. Some say we may not see it at all. A researcher named Ben Fernando says, 'If you have good tools, take a look.'
